An Atlanta-based airline with a new concept of air travel chose a University marketing class to prepare its advertising campaign.
Haroon Qureshi, director of public relations for ImagineAir, said the company chose Jooyoung Kim's Advertising Campaigns class to create a marketing campaign featuring "creative styles for a smaller budget."
Kim, an assistant professor, said he is excited to work with ImagineAir.
In the class, student groups create a marketing book which details market data and advertising techniques, to increase awareness about the company and the air taxi industry, he said.
Like their professor, Kim's students said they are pleased to be working on the corporate project.
Roger Baldowski, a senior from Atlanta majoring in advertising and new media, said he is enjoying creating a communication campaign for a major business.
"I really like having free roam on what we can do," he said.
Baldowski said he appreciates being trusted with such a significant task.
Kim said he believes ImagineAir chose his marketing class for a number of reasons such as cost-effectiveness, student creativity and future profit.
"They see us as a good idea source and perhaps our students as potential future customers," he said.
ImagineAir is a company that utilizes the new idea of the air taxi allowing customers to pick their own departure time and location.
Although the company's two-plane fleet cruises slower than commercial jets, Qureshi said flying out of local airports versus major hubs such as Atlanta ultimately saves customers time and money.
"We let you fly in the afternoon and still make it home for dinner and your kid's soccer game," he said.
Qureshi also said ImagineAir's luxury planes feature satellite radio and leather seats.
